20 Day Return Policy for Merchandise
In-Effect Media Co. has a simple 3 step return procedure. All returns must be in “Like New” condition and approved. In-Effect Media Co. will attempt to achieve satisfaction but not all returns will result in a refund.
“Like New” Condition is:
• An item that has not been consumed more than 10%; and
• An item with no physical damage or tampering; and
• In the original unmarked packaging, box, and packaging material; and
• Includes all products in question
• The best definition of new condition is if you were to receive it, you would accept the item as “Like New.”
Return Steps 1 through 3
1. Receive Approval and Instructions To initiate a return, email your order number and reason for your return to returns@in-effectmedia.com within 10 days of receiving your order. A customer services representative will review your order and create a Return Case Number (RCN), answer by email any questions you may have, as well as provide a return shipping charge estimate.
2. Pack and Ship Your Return(s) Once a return case number (RCN) has been issued, you will need to pack and ship your item(s) within 10 days.
• Please ensure the item is well packed in its original packaging. Other than the return label, please do not write or mark the box in any other way.
• Please allow 7-10 business days to receive your RCN. • You will receive an email with a return shipping label attached, as well as instructions for dropping it off or scheduling a pickup.
• Please ensure your item has been picked up or dropped off within 10 days of receiving your RCN and shipping label.
3. Your Return Credit Upon receipt by In-Effect Media Co., the item will be inspected to ensure “Like New” condition and once confirmed we will process your credit less the actual shipping charges.
• We work hard to make this go as quickly as possible and the process should take 10 business days or less. Occasionally, due to transit times or unforeseen circumstances, it can take up to 30 days.
• You will usually be refunded via the method in which the item was purchased.
Additional Information
The Item is Not “New”
If the item is not returned in “new” condition, we reserve the right to charge a restocking fee of up to 75% on top of the return charges.
The Item is Returned Without an RCN
Items returned without an RCN are subject to an automatic 50% restocking fee and may be denied depending on the item.
Exceptions and Items Not Eligible for Returns
Unfortunately, under certain circumstances items purchased from Modern Cotter Co may not be eligible for return. These exceptions and items are as follows:
• Items sold as clearance or final sale products.
• Custom, special order, or made to order products.
• Consumable parts, glass, shades, etc.
• Any item that has been tampered, modified, or used in any way.
• Any item without original packaging.
• Items delivered/received more than 20 days ago are usually not eligible for a return; if approved to return will incur a restocking fee.
• Items on which the RCN issue date is greater than 10 days will require a new RCN and may be denied.
• Expedited shipping and charges for various other shipping conditions (including outside of the continental USA).
Large Quantity Purchases
When ordering large quantities (5+) of the same item we strongly recommend ordering a single sample for evaluation before you place the full order. Returns of any item in quantities of 5 or more units will be subject to a return review. Depending on the item and issue at hand, you may be charged a restocking fee or have the return denied.
Shipping Deductions
You are responsible for the actual shipping costs back to In-Effect Media Co. We will confirm the shipping amount at the time we process your return request and the fee will be deducted when we process the return credit.
Custom, Special Order, and Made-to-Order Products
Once a custom order is placed it cannot be cancelled. Custom orders often require additional production and shipping times ranging anywhere from 1-2 weeks. Custom orders cannot be returned under any circumstance. However, if you receive your custom order and an item is damaged beyond repair, a replacement will be shipped.
Damaged and Defective Goods Policy
In-Effect Media Co. values putting the customer first. We confidently stand behind our products and will do our best to make things right. Delivered Damaged? Let us know ASAP by emailing returns@in-effectmedia.com. Some products can include glass and fragile parts. No matter how well they are packaged, on rare occasions products may incur damage in shipping. If possible, we will attempt to ship out any replacement part without returning the entire item, at no cost to you. If it is irreparable, we will work quickly to return and replace the item. We will follow these guidelines for damaged and defective goods:
• In-Effect Media Co. requires that damages be reported within 5 days of receipt.
• We will assist you in ordering a new replacement item while we work on returning the damaged one.
• If you received an item that is damaged, do not discard any of the packaging in which it was received. Discarding the original packaging of a damaged item may delay or even void the return.
• Please be prepared to provide your order number, product and the specific nature of the damage. In some cases we may request photos be submitted
• All items returned as damaged or defective will be inspected upon receipt. Return of an item found to be in working condition and absent of any damages or defects upon inspection may incur a restocking fee.
In all cases, if the merchandise you have received appears to be damaged, contact our customer services department by email at returns@in-effectmedia.com as soon as possible.
